For years, I carried these emotions, thinking they were proof that something was wrong with me.
I tried to push them away, to silence the voice inside me that whispered...
I was always told I was the problem, I was CONVINCED I was the problem.
The feelings would creep back in—shaping my choices, my relationships, and the way I saw myself.
It wasn’t until I stopped running and started listening that everything changed.
I realized that the fear, the shame, the guilt… they weren’t enemies.
My inner child had been speaking to me all along.
Asking for the love, safety, and understanding I never knew how to give myself.
When you’re led by negative emotions, you’re projecting them.
Imagine being a disco ball.
Instead of reflecting light, you’re reflecting those same emotions out as they’re coming in.
They influence your judgement, your ability to live, and your choices.
And they affect the people around you.
As you begin shutting down and create a barrier around you, people get pushed away.
Thus reinforcing your belief that you’re not good enough..
Questioning and blaming yourself instead of understanding yourself.
Healing isn’t about getting rid of these emotions.
It’s about learning how to hold space for them—so they don’t control you anymore.
There's two sides:
The playful side that sticks their hands out to their sides and pretends to fly,
has a tea party with their stuffed animals,
builds a pillow and blanket fort.
The side that's told to sit still and shut up,
to be realistic,
to get over it,
to grow up,
to ask first.
When it is wounded - fear, doubt, and shame cloud your perception.
Imagine mud on your windshield.
You can’t see the road clearly, and every turn you make can send you crashing.
Because of that lack of vision…
You end up not trusting your own judgement, and you seek advice from others before sticking with something.
On the other hand,
When your inner child is healed and nurtured, you have the confidence to make decisions for yourself and not look back on them whatsoever.
When we learn to stop seeking approval from others, we take our personal power back.
Rather than asking for people’s permission and approval, as we have been programmed to do by society, we claim our own “hall pass”.
Reality is, we treat ourselves so effing poorly, reinforcing the beliefs we learned in childhood -
(“If I’m a good girl, If I behave well, If I do as you say”, etc.)

You get to decide if you accept what people hand you.
